The Financial Times published an article Saturday in the Lex section of the newspaper where it described how Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, “is either very brave or very stupid” given the comments he made about market speculators and their affect on Spain.
“Zapatero said speculators who are betting short against Spain are going to lose their shirt.”
The commentary in the Financial Times stated that while Zpatero’s comments showed “bravery” it illustrates that “the same question that he would rather not have raised comes to the table: “how vulnerable is Spain to the crisis in the euro area?”.
The financial authority said that Zapatero has helped build “a red flag for speculators.”
